Floral Headwear

There are so many fun ways to wear flowers in your hair. Flower crowns are one of the most popular, but even just with flower crowns there are so many different ways to make them! You can do large flower crowns, small flower crowns, greenery crowns, flower clips, flower headbands, etc.

Weddings are the perfect time and place to wear flowers in your hair. With so many different options you can have the bride, bridesmaids, and flower girls all wearing flowers in their hair but looking completely unique.

Whatever you can imagine, I want to be able to create.

Katey + Justin Formals

Katey and Justin took their formal photos down in St. George, Utah and I just looove how they turned out. The green bouquet in the middle of the desert looks incredible. Especially with how AMAZING her dress is! I am completely obsessed.

All photos taken by the very talented Julia.

A lot of brides have been requesting artificial flowers instead of real flowers for their weddings. Artificial can sometimes be more affordable, but that shouldn’t be your reasoning for choosing it. Depending on the type of flowers, the season, etc. you can occasionally get better deals on a natural flower instead of its artificial counterpart. Whether you are doing artificial or real flowers, you can spend a fortune or do it on a budget. That is up to you! So when you set price aside, there are still a lot of reasons why brides are choosing fake over real.

  1. You can keep your bouquet forever
  2. You can get them as far in advance as you would like, which will reduce stress on the wedding day
  3. You can have flowers that may not be in season
  4. Your flowers won’t wilt throughout the day
  5. They are lightweight and easier to care for (no water!)
  6. You don’t have to worry about any allergies to certain flowers
  7. You can repurpose any of the flowers afterwards (centerpieces for your home, etc)

When you first think of artificial flowers your mind might immediately go to dollar store/cheap looking flowers but there are a lot of very realistic looking flowers out there. Your arrangements can still look incredible if you choose to go the artificial flower route!

I did a collaboration last week and had some flowers left over so I made a bouquet and flower head band for Delilah. Once she saw it she begged me to take her “wedding day pictures”. So we put a pretty dress on her and did a little photoshoot! She loved it and when we got home she went and changed her dress so we could take some more photos.

As cute and fun as her little photoshoot was, the floral headband she is wearing is actually a great alternative for a full flower crown. It works great for bridesmaids, flower girls, or even the bride.

For Ana’s wedding day bouquet we went with primarily white bouquet with just a pop of color. Her bridesmaids were in different shades of pink dresses and their bouquets were just smaller & more simple versions of Ana’s bouquet. Then just simple boutonnieres for the groom & groomsmen.

Ana and Jacob were such a fun couple to work with. I usually meet the groom for the first time when I am pinning his boutonniere on, but Jacob came along to our first meeting and it was a pleasure getting to know them both.

Their bridals were done by Charissa (www.charissaleephotography.com) and turned out incredible. All of these snowy wedding pictures that I get to be a part of are making me love winter weddings more than I ever thought I could.

Got to work with one of my favorite photographers again for this beautiful bride. Shalee makes winter look incredible. A lot of brides are currently asking for the green and white bouquets but I especially love this one because of all of the white in the landscape, her dress, and the flowers so it makes the green in the bouquet stand out so much. We are going to switch a few things up for her wedding day bouquet this weekend so keep an eye out for that post!
